Overview
spatial adjuster is an object designed to subtly transform the perception of space.
By layering materials with distinct properties—metal, wood, and surface-treated copper—
the work operates as a device that mediates relationships between objects, environment, and human presence.
Rather than occupying space, it recalibrates it.
「spatial adjuster」は、空間の知覚を静かに変化させるために設計されたオブジェです。
金属、木、そして表面処理された銅といった異なる性質の素材を層として重ねることで、
物と人、環境との関係性を媒介する装置として機能します。
空間を占有するのではなく、空間そのものを調整する存在です。
Concept
The work explores the relationship between organic and inorganic systems.
Through the structured layering of materials,
it visualizes the tension and continuity between natural forms and artificial constructions.
The object becomes a point of balance—
an interface where different orders coexist.
有機と無機の関係性をテーマとし、素材を規則的に積層することで、自然と人工、構造と生命のあいだにある緊張と連続性を可視化します。
本作は、それらが交差する接点として、異なる秩序が共存するバランスの点を形成します。
Form & Spatial Function
Through its layered and structured form,
the work alters visual flow, light distribution, and spatial rhythm.
Placed within an environment,
it reorganizes relationships between surrounding elements,
functioning as a spatial mediator rather than a standalone object.
規則的に構成された層構造により、視線や光の流れ、空間のリズムに変化を与えます。
単体のオブジェとしてだけでなく、空間の中に配置されることで、周囲との関係性を再編成する役割を持ちます。
Material & Technique
The work incorporates a technique that transforms copper into a deep vermilion hue,
introducing color derived from chemical and temporal processes.
By combining copper, stainless steel, and wood,
it creates a dialogue between contrasting material properties.
銅を緋色へと変化させる表面処理技法を用い、時間や化学的反応によって生まれる色彩を取り入れています。
銅、ステンレス、木材といった異なる素材を組み合わせ、それぞれの物質的特性を対比させながら構成しています。
